Kevin was arrested as part of a large drug-project involving wire-taps and police surveillance. He was charged in Ottawa with conspiracy to traffic in cocaine and marijuana, as well as criminal organization offences.
A complex police investigation resulted in many people being charged with drug and criminal organization offences. Initially, the prosecution wanted a lengthy penitentiary sentence for Kevin, along with the other co-accused people. In fact, many of the co-accused did receive long penitentiary sentences.
We worked with Kevin to turn his life around and gather evidence of his reformed character.
After lengthy negotiations, the Crown agreed to a house arrest sentence based on the positive steps Kevin had taken. Kevin was able to continue working and going to school.
